A Mouthwatering Prospect for Foodies at this year's La Dolce Vita

05/02/2008

Learn to cook with D’Acampo, Randall and Zilli

Things are warming up nicely in the kitchen for this year’s La Dolce Vita festival, held at Olympia London between 13-16 March 2008. A veritable A-Z of celebrity chefs from Gino D’Acampo and Theo Randall through to Aldo Zilli will be cooking up a storm in the ‘Scuola di Cucina’.

This year’s show promises visitors a truly scrumptious and tantalising array of Italian cuisine and wine to enjoy and take home, as well as the opportunity to pick up invaluable tips at the Italian cookery school.

D’Acampo, Randall and Zilli will entertain and educate with a series of exclusive master classes designed to inspire even those who can’t or won’t cook. To guarantee a seat at one of these classes visitors can purchase a ‘Connoisseur’ ticket which includes fast track entry to the show as well as access to the VIP area of the Piazza. Food & Wine Connoisseurs will have the chance to register online for a Cookery or Wine Academy Master Class and receive £20 worth of Fiorini* to spend on food at the show.

Chocoholics cannot afford to miss the Chocolate Master Classes where slow food experts Foodiscovery will unravel the dark and mysterious history of chocolate with tastings of regional specialities such as Ministeriali (Naples) and chocolate figs (Calabria).

At the heart of the festival, as in every Italian town and city, is The Piazza where visitors can dine at top Italian restaurants, including Zafferano, Signor Zilli, Theo Randall, Latium and Alloro. Gino D’Acampo, a regular face on British television, will make his first appearance at La Dolce Vita where he will open the doors to his exclusive restaurant Bontà Italia, developed solely for this show.

Those who like to buy the raw ingredients and cook from scratch will be inspired by a trip around The Mercato, bursting with authentic Italian produce including cheeses, cured meats, truffle oils and chocolates.

To wash it all down visitors should attend the Wine Academy, created in association with Vinopolis, London’s unique wine tasting attraction, and Italy magazine where workshops will help visitors distinguish their Chianti from their Pinot Grigio.

But if you just want to chill and make some Italian friends over an espresso, there’s no better place than the iconic Bar Italia.

And when you’ve had your fill there’s scores of exhibitors featuring the very best in Italian property, travel, fashion and design to round off your day at La Dolce Vita.

Visitors can purchase their tickets online at ladolcevitaevent.co.uk. Standard tickets cost £16 per person and the exclusive Wine & Food Connoisseur tickets are £50, which includes £20 worth of Fiorini*. (bookings subject to booking and transaction fees).
