It's a Mad* world

02/02/2006

For three days in June, Earls Court London will be going totally mad when the Mad* Show comes to town. Mad*, which stands for Make A Difference, will showcase Fairtrade products, organic production and sustainable lifestyles. The event takes place from 2 – 4 June, 2006.

Appealing to the ever increasing number of consumers who want to spend their money in the right way, but without compromising on style and quality, the show covers every facet of modern day living; from food, drink and fashion to travel and transport.

As the first major exhibition of its kind in the UK; organiser The Mad* Group has received backing from many different organisations The show is being produced in partnership with the Soil Association, the heart of organic food and farming, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The Association will be showcasing organic clothing and conducting taste tests throughout the three day show.

London Sustainability Weeks (LSW) was so keen to be involved with this innovative new show that it brought forward the launch of its season of events to coincide with the last day of the exhibition, Sunday 4 June.

Jolene Pritchard from The Mad* Group said of the event;

“We’re really excited about this show, not only due to the phenomenal support we have had from organisations such as Forum for the Future and Trevor Baylis, but because the nature of this event has really captured the imagination of people all over the UK. Consumers are becoming increasingly discerning, wanting to buy ethically produced items of a high quality at a reasonable price and this is exactly what the Mad* Show is offering.”

Other exciting features include seminar programmes with talks from experts in sustainable living, including the Soil Association and the National Energy Foundation, 1000’s of organic and sustainable items to try or buy, a central theatre, fashion shows, cookery demonstrations, celebrity appearances and much, much more.

Press Day will be on the opening day of the show, Friday 2 June, 2006. To register your interest and to find out more about events taking place that day, please contact: Mark Smith on 01483 418 829 or mark@themadgroup.co.uk
