2,500 downloads within first 24 hours
EC&O Venues has teamed up with the organiser of the Autumn Ideal Home Show, dmg world media, to produce four podcasts to promote the show which takes place at Earls Court from 6 – 15 October. The project is the first major example of EC&O Venues’ commitment to its new digital marketing strategy which adds further value to organisers’ marketing activities.
A joint marketing initiative from EC&O Venues and dmg world media, the podcasts were designed to give the audience a flavour of the show’s content, some celebrity advice and encourage visitors to visit the show to find out more.
The podcasts, produced by Sonique Ltd, feature a celebrity expert from the exhibition and are available to download from the show’s website in the run-up to the event. The first podcast on the website by Alison Cork, writer and broadcaster specialising in property and interiors, was downloaded 2,500 times within the first 24 hours.
Simon Mayle, Marketing Manger, Autumn Ideal Home Show said;
“I’m delighted with the success of this new initiative. It’s the first time we’ve integrated podcasting into our marketing strategy and it has already delivered some solid and measurable results and driven visitors to our website. Working in partnership with EC&O Venues’ marketing team to help achieve our objectives in the months before the show has been a real success.”
Sybil Barker, Digital Marketing Manager, EC&O Venues added;
“Seeing the Autumn Ideal Home Show embrace new technology within their marketing activity is exciting. Podcasts engage with visitors in a more direct manner and are an ideal means of generating interest in an event. The project demonstrates how we are developing our digital marketing strategy, including the redevelopment of our website and activities such as webcasting to provide further support for our organisers.”
Natalie Griffiths, Director, Sonique commented;
"The aim with the Autumn Ideal Home Show podcast was to create a mini lifestyle show with each episode featuring a different celebrity. Importantly the podcast is in effect a "teaser" of what to expect at the event itself. Every episode had to have the right balance of fun and information while subtly promoting the show - I think we got that balance right.”
