The Cycle Show 2007 wheeled its way into Earls Court for the first time on 11th – 14th October with more than double the floor space. The Show, now in its 5th year was previously held in the Business Design Centre, then moved to ExCeL before taking up residence at Earls Court.
The new location meant that this year’s Cycle Show brought everything under one roof for the first time, with all the test tracks moving indoors to provide not only an exciting visual spectacle but also the guarantee of staying dry for those venturing onto one of the many bikes available to test.
The show provided something for all cycle lovers - from the novice right up to the expert - it was a must-see attraction over the weekend for families as children took to the special Kids Track with Transport For London under the supervision of fully qualified instructors, whilst commuters were offered the Test Track with a light hearted look at the journey to work.
Off road biking was another main feature of the show, getting adrenalin flowing with the impressive Indoor Volvo/BikeRadar Mountain Bike Test, a 3000m2 indoor dirt track offering cycle enthusiasts the chance to test ride the latest mountain bikes from leading brands. Ease of access to the Cycle show was key with regular underground services delivering visitors right to the door and fittingly with the show’s theme, visitors could cycle to the show and leave their bike safely at the Brompton Cycles Bike Park, free of charge, situated of course, at the West ‘Brompton’ entrance of Earls Court.
Mick Bennett, Event Director, Cycle 2007 said: "In my 24 years in the events industry we've never had a better reception than that provided by Earls Court and Olympia. Right through from the set up, the show itself and the get out afterwards, everything has been exemplary. Everything from the meetings before the show, the service we've received during Cycle and all the facilities at Earls Court have been excellent."
Ian Whittingham, Owner, Sigma Sport added: "The venue is superb. Easy for people to get to and there's a lot of soul to Earls Court. I hear the show is here for three years and that is great news."
Jeremy Rees, Exhibition Sales Director, EC&O Venues commented: “We’re delighted to welcome the Cycle Show to Earls Court for the first time this year. Cycling is not only growing in popularity as a sport but also as a transport mode of choice by many of our visitors and the feedback for this year’s event from both the organisers, exhibitiors and visitors has been really positive. We’re looking forward to hosting an even bigger and more successful Cycle Show next year.”
