What are Showcasts?

Showcasts let you automatically receive the latest audio (podcast) or video (vodcast) content from your chosen event or section as soon as it's available.

You need to "subscribe" to receive a showcast, rather like you might subscribe to a magazine and get it delivered each week. An important difference is that all of EC&O's showcasts are free, and you can stop receiving the files at any time.

You can subscribe to the whole What's On section of the site, or you can subscribe to one of the 4 sections: Music, Entertainment, Consumer and Trade.

How do I subscribe to a showcast?

You will need an internet connection and a piece of software or feed reader.

How you subscribe will vary depending on which software you have chosen. Three pieces of popular software are iTunes and Juice.

To subscribe the first thing you need to do is add the feed link of the showcast to your software. The feed link is where the software will go to each time it wants to check for new content.

You can find the feed link for any EC&O showcast by right-clicking the purple 'Subscribe to Showcasts' button and selecting ‘Copy Shortcut'.



The feed link will start with "http://feeds.eco.co.uk/...”

You will need to paste this feed link into your software and it should do the rest.

Go to Showcasts page.

What if I don't want to subscribe?

You can simply watch or listen to something right away.

You don't have to wait for anything to download to your computer. However this means you can't keep the content to watch or listen to again.

Alternatively, you can download a video or audio file to your computer.
